Continuing to solidify its leadership in optical storage devices, Toshiba offers the industry’s first DVD-RW/CD-RW combination drive for mobile computers. With Toshiba’s SD-R6112 slim combination drive, mobile PC users can now create DVD videos and CD audio files all with the same drive, allowing users to burn and edit both work-related and personal digital productions – on the fly and on the go.

The lightweight combination drive brings DVD recording to the mobile world and gives users a stepping stone to move from CD to DVD technology for creating and storing family photos, files, videos and other memories they don’t want to lose. Based on the DVD-R/RW format, Toshiba’s combination drives support the most widely compatible DVD standard, giving consumers the highest level of compatibility with legacy DVD devices. The SD-R6112 slim-drive supports writing DVD-R/RW at 2X/1X, writing CD-R/RW at 16X/10X, and reads 8X DVD and 24X CD.

This powerful storage device is a functional technology that enables PC manufacturers to deliver unprecedented DVD and CD computing capabilities in their mobile devices. Until now, only desktop computers have had the luxury of DVD recordability for applications such as audio/video editing and personal digital compilations.

Eject
Button The Eject button is used to open the disc tray so you can install or remove a disc.


Emergency

After installing your drive and re-booting, your system should recognize your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM.
